The bat exhibits fine usage characteristics including ball marks, grain swelling, cleat marks, and a repaired handle crack. O16 is stamped on the knob end. The offered bat dates to the pinnacle of Maris' storied career and originated directly from the Yankees during Spring Training of 1961. As time passes and circumstances change within baseball today, the 61 home run record that Roger Maris established is truly appreciated as one of the greatest individual performances in the history of the game.
