Description: 1887 Allen & Ginter N28 baseball tobacco card set. Fairly strong set regarded as the most desirable and attractive of all 19th century baseball card issues. Cards grade as follows: Anson: SGC 60 EX, Bennett (light abrasion line on the back): SGC 60 EX, Caruthers: SGC 50 VG/EX, Clarkson (tiny touch up to bottom right corner): VG, Comiskey: SGC 50 VG/EX, Glasscock (has some light staining on front and back): SGC 30 GD, Keefe: SGC 40 VG, Kelly (very clean card): SGC 84 NM, Mulvey (has an area of white toning on the back): SGC 40 VG. Ward (evidence of trimming to one edge): GD. Fine vintage set with excellent breakdown value.
