Description: Rare 1861 "Home Run Quick Step" baseball sheet music. One of only a few surviving copies the offered example was recently discovered along with a small cache of early sheet music. Large 9 3/4"x12 3/4" sheet music with stunning color tinted engraving of a full baseball scene with two uniformed players on either side. Baseball equipment and floral decor surround the central image, titling at the bottom includes, "Respectfully Dedicated to the Members of the Mercantile Base Ball Club of Philadelphia". Interior pages remain complete and intact along with back cover. Spine has some wear from binding inclusive of approx. 1/8 inch loss. The imagery on the cover is notably strong and ranks among the finest that we have encountered: EX-EX/MT (With note to spine)
