Description: 1911 T3 Turkey Red baseball cabinet card near set. Considered the most desirable and attractive of the 20th century baseball related tobacco card sets the offered set is being sold at auction for the first time. Hand assembled over many years it includes some very fine condition examples. (100) total baseball cards issued with key cards grading as follows: Brown #1: EX, Bresnahan #4: EX, Crawford #5: EX, Clarke #8: EX-MT, Cobb #9 (Has a restored pinhole/tear at top margin and tiny chip at bottom edge): VG, Evers #16: VG-EX, Griffith #17: VG, Jennings #18: VG, Joss #19: EX-MT (NM except for light wrinkle and touch of wear to one corner), Lajoie #23: EX, McGraw #26: EX-EX/MT, Mathewson #27: EX, Tinker #35: VG, Speaker #36: GD (trimmed and pinhole), Waddell #39: VG-EX, Young #42: EX, Chance #47: VG (pinhole), Bender #80: VG-EX, Johnson #99: VG-EX (one line crease), Keeler #101: GD-VG (ink lines on back), Wallace #124: EX, and Walsh #125: VG-EX. Balance of the set includes a varied mixture of condition grades with the majority grading VG or better. Many of the cards are either very strong EX+ examples or by many standards EX-MT given their size and original fragility. There are some cards within the set that do have pinholes or some toning and grade GD.
