Relatively recent advances in authentication have revealed that authentic team-signed balls from the Brooklyn Dodgers teams of the late 1940s and 1950s, as compared to the ôclubhouseö forgeries, are in very short supply. This is one of the rare 1953 team balls that is 100% genuine. The 1953 Dodgers were a true powerhouse, racking up 105 regular season wins and sporting five starters who hit over .300, but they succumbed to the Yankees in the World Series in six games. An off-white Giles Official National League ball with 31 black fountain pen signatures, including Robinson, Campanella (MVP), Snider, Reese, Hodges, Herman, Gilliam (Rookie of the Year), Erskine, Furillo, Roe, Dressen, Podres, and Labine.
