Description: Christy Mathewson's hand initialed World War I ammunition belt (PSA/DNA). Original heavy gauge cloth/canvas belt as issued for use during World War I. Attached is a period cartridge pouch (marked "L.C.C. & Co. Mar. 1918" inside) which has the initials "CM" written on the back in period ink. This handwriting has been authenticated by PSA/DNA as having been done by Mathewson himself. The belt and case are in fine overall condition showing a touch of light natural age/storage wear. A very desirable piece originating from Matty's time spent serving in the Chemical Warfare Service. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA and Mathewson Collection certificate of provenance: EX
