Description:c.1918 Christy Mathewson "Christy" autographed postcard with lengthy handwritten note (PSA Mint 9). Photographic postcard showing the scene as civilians line a street to watch the French Army march in Metz during World War I. A handwritten note on the back reads, "The French soldiers peacefully capture Metz, the strongest fortress on our front. I saw some home made Stars and Stripes there. Some of the flags had as many as 8 stars, Christy, Hendicourt, Nov. 25th." The handwriting and signature have been graded "Mint 9" by PSA. Hint of light toning and wear. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA and includes certificate of provenance: EX/MT with PSA Mint 9 signature
