Description: Superb Christy Mathewson photograph by Boellinger c.1916. Crisp sepia tone photograph showing Matty as a member of the Cincinnati Reds in what would prove to be a short stint during the 1916 season. Outstanding contrast and clarity with little mentionable wear aside from natural age toning to image. The 4.75"x6.75" photograph remains on original 8"x10" mount which has "F.Boellinger" marked impressed on the lower front and his label appears on the back. Hint of wear to mount which has two small areas of discoloration on the upper back. Includes Mathewson Collection certificate of provenance: EX-EX/MT
