Description: Rare 1952 Star-Cal Decals Type (1) #70-G Mickey Mantle. Deceptively scarce large format decal issued by Star-Cal showing Mickey Mantle during his second season with the New York Yankees. The set checklist boasts an extensive roster of Hall of Famers with Mantle being the most desirable of them all. It is not hard to imagine why these pieces surface so infrequently given the intended use and surely nearly every young fan who managed to get their hands on one featuring The Mick removed it from the red envelope and dutifully adhered it onto a notebook. The offered example boasts a crisp and clear image of Mantle with his facsimile signature appearing below. The envelope shows a touch of wear at edges as is commonly seen.
