Superb 1901 Pittsburgh Pirates team cabinet photograph. Huge 13"x16" mounted image of the NL Champion Pirates including Honus Wagner, Jack Chesbro, Deacon Phillippe, and Fred Clarke. "Pittsburgh Base Ball Club Pennant Winners National League 1901" printed on mount with players last names and positions neatly penned in period fountain pen. This was Honus Wagner's personal photograph and includes period letter on Pirates stationary signed by journalist George Booker who received the photo directly from Wagner's daughter Virginia in 1963. In the letter it states that Wagner had this image hanging in his office at Forbes Field while he was a coach. The image itself has a small surface crease at top left a a tiny border wrinkle on right edge. It remains in a molded edge pine frame believed to be original as stated in the letter. Rare and unusual pair of baseball figural leaded glass wall sconces c.1910. Wonderful pair of spider style catcher's masks with throat guards having bronze padding and original gilt finish. Retain original inset leaded glass liners with light gold slag glass inserts. One liner is missing a glass panel and has a small crack in another. No manufacturer's markings or foundry stampings are visible although quality level is of the highest standards for their period. Each retains original electrical wiring which needs to be replaced,13" tall. Fantastic pair of baseball related art that most likely graced the walls of stadium or athletics club during the period.
