Description: Outstanding archive of 1925 World Series related Washington Senators photographs (13) including great views (Avg. GD-GD/VG) Lot of (13) period photographs related to the Washington Senators appearing in the 1925 World Series including a number of rarely seen views. Most are approx. 8"x10" on average with a few slightly smaller. There are some exceptional pieces. Includes 6.5"x8.75" photo of Walter Johnson and Roger Peckinpaugh with International Newsreel stamp on the back along with Baseball Magazine hologram. Paper caption (included but no longer attached) noting that Johnson was MVP in 1924 and is shaking hands with Peckinpaugh who was name MVP for 1925; slightly smaller image of Peckinpaugh being presented with a loving cup surrounded by fans and Bucky Harris. "Henry Miller" stamp on back along with paper caption which is dated Oct. 13, 1925; similar size group photo which the paper caption idicates shows "New Players To Aid Senators Pennant Race." Five are pictured including Bobby Veach. Pacific & Atlantic stamp on back along with Baseball Magazine hologram. Paper caption is included but no longer attached; similar size photo of Bucky Harris and Bill McKechnie with "Henry Miller" stamp on back and Oct 1925 date stamped on back; 8"x10" full length batting pose image of Goose Goslin. United Newspictures stamp on back along with original paper caption and a few date stamps (earliest from Oct 1924); and (8) images showing games in action. Some of these are choice views with outstanding eye appeal. Most have International Newsreel stamps and paper captions affixed. One is Underwood and Underwood and the last is N.E.A. Included in these are shots showing (as indentified by captions) Sam Rice hitting in Game 2, Rice scoring on a Goslin home run in Game 4 (identified by consignor, no caption), Rice stepping to the plate in Game 2, Kiki Cuyler flying out in Game 3, Goose Goslin home run in Game 2, Bucky Harris striking out in Game 2, and Walter Johnson tagged out trying to steal a base. Note that these game action images have the central figure noted in our description but many are more sweeping views showing the field at large during the particular play. Varying degrees/types of wear throughout with most pieces GD-GD/VG and general range runs FR-VG/EX. Some pieces have photographers mask or other production related markings on front: Avg. GD-GD/VG ($1,500-$2,500)
This internet auction will close to initial bids at 10pm E.S.T on July 8, 2026. Bids may be placed at any time up until the closing and bidding will extend past 10pm E.S.T. on July 8 for 20 minute intervals per lot for each bid placed on a given lot.
