Description: Fantastic archive of 1924 World Series Washington Senators photographs (16) including rare views (Avg. GD/VG) Lot of (16) period photographs related to the Washington Senators appearing in the 1924 World Series including a number of rarely seen views. All are approx. 8"x10" with (1) slightly smaller. Includes photo of President Calvin Coolidge in attendance. International Newsreel stamp on back along with 10/9 dated paper caption; unmarked image of Frank Frisch and Bucky Harris shaking hands; oustanding shot taken from a high vantage with paper caption on the back noting that it shows the first pitch of the last game of the Series which was played at Griffith Stadium. Harris and Ewing stamp on teh back; image of Senators and Giants players standing on field with original paper caption on the back (dated 10/9/24) noting that they are taking a moment of silence in honor of Jake Daubert whom had passed that morning. "International Newsreel" stamp. This piece is signed by Bucky Harris in ink rating 7-7/8 out of 10; (8) rare game action images with International Newsreel stamps on back along with original paper captions dated from 10/6 to 10/9, 1924. The most notable show Sam Rice reaching first base safely (10/8), Goose Goslin crossing home plate (10/7), Giants Hall of Famer Ross Youngs sliding into second base, another showing Youngs crossing home plate (10/9), and Giants HOFer Frank Frisch in a rundown (10/9); another image of Frisch with short paper caption on back noting that he was "safe on his double in the first inning"; image of Al Schacht and Nick Altrock with N.E.A. and 10/10 date stamp; and a view showing a large crowd of spectators with pencil notation on back relaying that they were on hand to greet the Senators train when it arrived back in Washington.
