Description: Carl Mays handwritten letter with Walter Johnson content (see description) Letter is written on a pair of 3.25"x5.75" slips of calendar paper which have been mounted to a heavy stock backing board. Interesting content with mention of a pair of injuries sustained while batting against Walter Johnson (one being a broken ankle sliding into home on an inside the park home run) whom he refers to as "Greatest of all Pitchers, and a fine man - nobody ever was close to him in speed..." Signed on the bottom of the first page "Carl" in ink rating 8 out of 10.
