Description: Interesting lot of 1960s correspondence from the John Logan Collection (EX-NM) Interesting lot of correspondence includes (12) letters which relate to a charity baseball game which was to be played in 1966. Better known names incl. Stan Musial (on restaurant stationary, signed "Stan"), Charlie Grimm (signed "Charlie" on Cubs stationary), Harvey Kuenn (full page handwritten letter on Phillies stationary), George Selkirk (signed "Geo" on Senators stationary), Fred Haney (signed "Fred" on Angels stationary), and Pete Ward (handwritten). Also included is related correspondence on nice team stationary (unsigned or signed by lesser known front office people) incl. Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates (Dan Whelan handwritten letter), Chicago White Sox (signed by E.G. Short), and (2) letters from the Commissioner's Office which granted permission for several Phillies and Braves players to attend; nice selection of letters as sent to Logan in 1963 when he was looking for a team that was in need of his services. All of these are on team stationary and incl. Dodgers (first name signed by Buzzie Bavasi), Twins (signed by Calvin Griffith), Cardinals (signed by Bing Devine), White Sox (signed by EG Short), Reds (signed by Wm. Dewitt), Senators (first name signed by George Selkirk), Giants (signed by Chub Feeney), Colt 45s (signed by Paul Richards), and Pirates (signed by Bob Rice. There is also a telegram from John Quinn of the Phillies and (6) letters from baseball teams in Japan. Nearly all letters include their original mailing envelopes.
