See a Picture of this Item 701 Superb 1983 Cal Ripken Jr. Baltimore Orioles road jersey. Grey knit jersey as worn by Ripken Jr. very early in his career during the 1983 MVP and World Championship season. The jersey front retains its original Orioles team name and #8; the back has "Ripken" nameplate and #8 both remaining in original condition as well. Tail front displays the Medalist/Sand Knit tagging along with "Baltimore Orioles Exclusive" tag. Interior tail area has two original strip tags with "83 44" and "8 Ripken" respectively. The jersey itself exhibits perfect use including light (appropriate) age toning with properly muted color to the trim from sun exposure. Lettering and numerals all display even, uniform wash and use wear. The 1983 season was without question one of the most significant of Ripken's hallowed career. The offered jersey originates from a family member of a team source and is quite possibly the finest Cal Ripken Jr. uniform to have been offered publicly. Signed by Ripken Jr. across the front in black sharpie. The bat shows very fine use incl. ball marks, stitching impressions, rack marks, pine tar residue, and original handle tape. Model #O16 is stamped on knob end along with a period #5 written in black marker on both knob and barrel ends. The barrel of the bat displays a unique hand painted portrait of Brooks Robinson which was executed in the period and presents beautifully. Signed by Robinson on the barrel in black sharpie. A letter of provenance accompanies the bat from former Kansas City Royals clubhouse attendant Ken Ballard stating that Ripken gave him this bat personally. Louisville Slugger model 125 bat measuring 34 1/2" long and weighing 32.1oz. was issued to Mays for his final All-Star Game appearance. The game in Kansas City would see Mays finish his career with numerous All-Star game records including at-bats, runs, hits, total bases and triples. Model #S2 is stamped on the knob end with Mays number “24” written on the knob and barrel end in black marker. "All-Star Game Kansas City 1973" and Mays’ full name in block letters is stamped on the barrel. Mays appeared in the game for a single at-bat as a pinch hitter. The bat shows commensurate lack of usage wear. A notably large inscription “To Joe Best Wishes Willie Mays” appears on the back of the barrel in black marker (signature measures 8”), rating 7-8 out of 10. See a Picture of this Item 714 Rare Home Run Cigarettes advertising poster c.1910. Uncommonly found color lithographic poster depicting a batter and catcher in full baseball uniform. Sign advertises Home Run brand cigarettes at the top and pictures an unopened pack at the bottom. One of only a handful of documented examples, the offered sign shows age wear inclusive of moisture toning at the top and bottom margins along with some general light surface abrasions to the center and lower potions. The borders also have some small tears in a few areas which do not greatly affect the overall eye appeal of the poster. One of the more desirable and attractive period baseball tobacco related displays. 12"x18" matted in a shadowbox style frame. Ornately appointed Victorian walnut cabinet advertising P.Lorillard & Co. tobacco products retains its original glass doors and tooled metal hardware. Pediment top features dental molding around the front and both side panels. Overall appearance is excellent with fine original surface and engraved "P.Lorillard & Co. 1760-1883" advertising across the center door mullions. Slight water damage is apparent at bottom front and left side wiht one small section of side panel molding missing at the bottom right edge. Cabinets such as these once occupied prominent placements in various shops of the period displaying tobacco related wares. See a Picture of this Item 716 1886 "The Champions" cigar box featuring team photograph of St. Louis "Brownie Champs". 8”x4-1/2”x2” wooden cigar box is designed with a photograph of the St. Louis Browns affixed to the interior of the lid. Composite image includes owner Chris Von Der Ahe and Charles Comiskey in the upper left and right, respectively. On the exterior of the box, "The Champions" appears on the top of the lid in large embossed script gold-colored lettering. A paper label on one side includes an illustration of a ship and reads "The Celebrated Champions Cigars." Additional exterior labels (largely intact) include an oval Metropolitan Cigar Factory and United States tax stamp on the back and bottom of the box. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only example of this particular box known in the marketplace. The quality of the Browns photo is exceptional and the overall condition of the box is outstanding for its age and nature. One of the only surviving exemplars: EX ($3,000.00-$4,000.00) $2,000.00

Large lidded wooden box has "King of the Diamond" engraved onto the top of the lid along with images of various baseball equipment. Interior lid features an ornate photographic label picturing Honus Wagner in Pittsburgh uniform surrounded by floral garniture. Wagner label is also repeated on a side apron. The interior label remains very clean with strong imagery despite a small stain and a few light surface wrinkles. Exterior has some typical age wear incl. a small repair to a 1/2" edge chip and some light surface abrasions to the side panel label. Hinge to the lid has been reinforced. See a Picture of this Item 734 Scarce 1914 Boston Garter Johnny Evers. Superb exemplar of one of the rarest cards from the highly elusive Boston Garter series. The card presents very well with outstanding color and fairly clean, crease-free surfaces. The corners show moderate even wear with very minor chipping at the bottom front edge and upper right edge on the reverse. Printed back is well centered. Close inspection reveals very subtle restoration to an apparent 3/4” line crease or blemish in the green background area at the left edge of the card parallel to Evers' knees. Slight inpainting is evident on the front as well as the corresponding area on the reverse. Two very small spots at the lower left edge show similar restoration. It must be noted that these areas are very discreet, having been performed with the utmost expertise and are reversible if so desired. This card is among only a handful of examples to have ever surfaced within the marketplace from a series that is widely revered for its unsurpassed combination of design and rarity. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only 1914 Boston garter Johnny Evers ever offered at public auction.
