Simply stated the offered example is the finest known copy that was recently discovered along with its' original Lorillard Tobacco mailing tube. The print retains original color and contrast with stunning visual appeal and clean borders free of the staining commonly found on this type of piece. Measures 22"x28 1/2" framed with two insignificant repaired edge tears on the far right border and a tiny edge flake at the bottom right border. Other then these two minor condition factors the piece is literally like the day it was printed. The display itself features a collage arrangement including baseball game scene as a central background and two stadium wall graphics at top each with Lorillard advertising. The interior area of the print is magnificient featuring vignette portraits of various baseball notables including Ewing, Bennett, Morrill, Keefe, Brouthers, H.Wright, N.E. Young, A.Mills, Spalding, Deasley, Snyder, Start, Anson, Stovey, Whitney, and Hecker. Marked "Root & Tinker, Tribune Bldg. New York 1884" at bottom right. The print amazingly includes the original cardboard mailing tube retaining its' addressed P.Lorillard & Co. mailing label with cancelled postage stamp. See a Picture of this Item 744 Rare "Topps Chewing Gum" trade sign c.1940's. Wonderful painted wooden trade sign which once hung at the Topps Chewing Gum company factory in Brooklyn, New York. The Shorin brothers had founded the company in 1938 and began selling "Topps Gum" chewing gum. In the 1940's Topps evolved into Bazooka bubble gum with small comics wrapped around the gum. It was around 1950 when the company revolutionized the industry as they began to insert trading cards with their gum products and the rest is history. Sign is of a soft wood having its' original black paint with gilt lettering and measures 7 3/4"x45". Has a sliver missing from top left corner area, chip at bottom right corner, and some general age wear including light paint flaking while retaining a superb original surface. This is the earliest historical Topps related piece that we have encountered: VG-EX ($3,500.00-$4,500.00) $2,800.00

Superb quality Arts & Crafts style hammered metal with copper wash mirrored hall rack retaining its' original scalloped edge mirror in center and three ornate coat hooks. Diamond shaped copper body features various baseball decor including baseball shaped border pattern, pair of White Sox logos on shields flanking the mirror, crossed bats and equipment decor under mirror, and "World's Champions 1906" lettering above mirror. One of only a few examples known to exist and remains in superb untouched original condition with unpolished copper wash surface and period center mirror. In the letter Townsend writes that he regretted not entering the "League" earlier and looked forward to membership for the coming season.
