1953 Baltimore Colts Gunther Beer hand embellished advertising display. Rare large format advertising piece as issued during the Colts Inaugural season is comprised of an oversized photographic print mounted to board with non-image portion having hand painted text. In addition, the bottle cap decoration has been likewise applied by hand. Team members and Coaches are shown above the angled slogan and skillfully executed period artwork. Framed to 27.5"x38" with mild visible wear to include some small tack holes, (2) or (3) small spots of paper/surface loss, and some mild moisture damage to the non-photo portion. "MacGregor" manufacturers tag on front notes size "48" and has adjacent wash tag. Outstanding usage wear throughout with several team repairs and some fraying. Based upon tagging and jersey style we can near definitively date this jersey to the 1957 season, Baltimore's 5th in the NFL and the year before they would make history with the first of two consecutive Championships.
