Red and black stitched Wilson “Pacific Coast League” baseball has been signed by (14) including Major Leaguers Jimmie Foxx and Mickey Cochrane along with then PCL players Jack Wilson, Art Parker, Herm Pillette, and others. Period fountain pen signatures rate 7 to 8 out of 10 and it is possible that two or three have been enhanced (neither Foxx or Cochrane). Ball displays usage wear with some soiling and has “all-stars” written on in unknown hand. Rare ring from the Pesky collection represents the only of its type we have seen and is most certainly a team presentational piece and is possibly a unique survivor. A pair of red enameled Sox flank central stone on the top face and each shank bears matching crossed bats with glove and ball design. Full standing wooden cased record playing machine manufactured by the prolific Victor Co. as used within the Pesky family household. The offered Victrola was frequently used and enjoyed by Johnny Pesky within his Boston area home during his playing career. 43" tall, 20" wide, and 23" deep. See a Picture of this Item 12 Unique Boston Red Sox scrapbook c.1942. Oversized 12"x14" period scrapbook as assembled and subsequently presented to Johnny Pesky by a passionate and meticulous fan. Interior pages begin with a team signed example displaying (34) black fountain pen signatures of the Red Sox players and notables including Ted Williams, Bob Doerr, Joe Cronin, Johnny Pesky, Charlie Wagner, and Eddie Collins. Signatures range from 7 to 9 out of 10 and are positioned around a vintage Red Sox uniform piece logo patch. Subsequent pages contain numerous original 5"x7" black and white images of the Red Sox players along with ink autographs on the respective album pages. Signatures/photos include Cronin, Pesky/Doerr, Williams, D.DiMaggio, and Doerr. Remaining pages include additional original baseball player photos (no autographs) of Feller, DiMaggio, and Foxx. Single page with autographs from the Boston sports reporters is found near the back of book as well. Overall condition varies as spine of book is loose with team signature page having separated from album. Interior photos retain excellent clarity/contrast but have some wrinkling with interior signatures ranging from 7 to 9 out of 10.
