A fine example for display being several ounces lighter than those recorded as having been made for his use within factory records. Evident usage wear throughout with a nail repaired handle crack and some chipping/deadwood to barrel end. Lazzeri was a mainstay during the Yankees “Murders Row” run of the late 1920-30s era and his game bats remain extremely scarce with only a few known. Enormous painted wooden sign measures 42 1/2" tall by 10’ long having once been displayed at Louisville’s Parkway Field which served as the longtime home for the Louisville Colonels baseball team. The field played host to countless Minor League and barnstorming games with players such as Ted Williams, Honus Wagner, and Pee Wee Reese having passed through its gates. The sign retains its original patina with appropriate age wear having been displayed in an outdoor venue. Several areas of paint chipping with some expected soiling to a few sections. In the mid 1980s, Winchester resurrected the long defunct firm of Parker Brothers, considered at the time to be the absolute pinnacle of shotgun makers before the war. This example is the very high end DHE grade 20 gauge with 26" improved and modified bores. This gun is nothing short of spectacular. Its case hardened receiver is fully hand engraved. The deluxe American walnut stock is masterfully hand checkered right down to the skeletal butt plate. It is brand new as to condition with its original maker marked leather carry case with the canvas case protector, two nickel snap caps, original brown paper wrapper and plastic with all of the original packing grease still intact.
