Player Jerry Lynch wore number 14 from 1954-1956 which coincides with the time frame in which Butwin was making jackets for Major League teams and utilizing this style of tagging. See a Picture of this Item 417 Fine Roberto Clemente professional model Pittsburgh Pirates hat c.1970-1972. Desirable Pirates hat in classic gold color has black brim and embroidered "P" logo. "New Era" label on interior band with "Pro Model" designation printed on by the manufacturer. Player number "21" written on underside of brim in the period, with font style matching numerous other documented examples. Exceptional usage wear is evident throughout with sweat staining to interior band and very slight bend in no longer pliable brim. An additional small flag tag on inside is present but due to wear is no longer readable. The offered hat was originally obtained by the consignor from Clemente after a game and will be accompanied by a letter of provenance as such. Very fine example dating to the era in which Clemente was firmly established as one of the great all around players of his time and lead the Pirates to a World Series victory in 1971. In what certainly ranks among the worst trades in baseball history the Phillies shipped Ryne Sandberg and Larry Bowa to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for shortstop Ivan DeJesus. Sandberg went on to a Hall of Fame career amassing (9) Gold Gloves over (16) seasons. Powder blue knit jersey has Phillies "P" logo on front along with player number "37." Number also appears on back below "Sandberg" nameplate. "Wilson" manufacturer's tag on front tail with the size "44." Below is an "81 2" embroidered strip tag denoting year and set number. Chain stitched strip tag in collar reads "Halicki" indicating that the jersey was likely issued to journeyman pitcher Ed Halicki for Spring Training before being tailored for use by Sandberg. Comes with a letter signed by former teammate Al Holland in which he relays that he obtained the bat from Schmidt and that it was used in the 1983 World Series. See a Picture of this Item 448 1983 Harry Kalas Philadelphia Phillies National League Championship ring. Every team has their legends. Typically they are the players on whom the faithful have come to rest their emotional attachment to the game and with them we ride the ups and downs of winning and losing. There are very few figures who can evoke such a response without ever having taken the field - Harry Kalas was at the top of that short list. He joined the Phillies organization with the Opening of Veterans Stadium in 1971 and was the voice of the Franchise for nearly (40) years. Through National League and World Championships, and moments too numerous to list Harry Kalas lent one of the great broadcasting voices as narration. Original ring is one of a very small number which was presented to Kalas and his family. It features a diamond at center of the top face set within the National Logo which is displayed on a maroon stone background. "Philadelphia Phillies NL Champions" is lettered around the edge. Left shank has year "1983" in relief above a rendering of the National League Championship trophy with "Phillies - 3" "Dodgers - 1" on either side. Right has name "Kalas" at top with the Phillies 100th Anniversary logo below. Interior band is stamped "Balfour Celestrium."
