Noted period sportswriter Arch Ward had conceived of the game to coincide with the World's Fair taking place in Chicago. Originally intended to be a one year event, the game proved so popular that it has become an American Pastime. Fittingly it was Babe Ruth who emerged the hero, hitting the first homerun in All-Star Game history to lead the American League to a 4-2 win. Very well preserved example with a touch of wear at corners and pencil notations within the scoring line of the pre-printed scorecard.
