Depicts Pat Moran with "Fitchburg Fans" lettered above and "National Baseball League, Moran Day, Boston, Sept. 29, 1915." Moran was a resident of Fitchburg, MA and despite heading into Boston to defeat the then Braves a hometown contingent was clearly organized to honor one of their own. See a Picture of this Item 135 Rare Richie Ashburn professional model baseball bat c.1950-60. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 33" long and weighs 32.8oz. Evident usage characteristics visible throughout including ball marks, cleat marks, and a hint of grain separation on the back of the barrel. A handle crack has been expertly repaired and is only visible under the closest scrutiny. Model number M159 is stamped on the knob end. Ashburn game bats are notably rare and desirable with very few examples having entered the marketplace. In nearly (20) years, this is only the second example we have brought to auction. See a Picture of this Item 137 Exceptional and rare 1939 Philadelphia Phillies professional model road uniform. Remarkably well preserved gray flannel jersey with -Phillies" red on blue felt team name lettered across the front and player number -30" on back. Left sleeve retains Centennial patch as worn throughout Major League Baseball that year. In the collar is the -Spalding" manufacturer's tag with adjacent size -38" and -Dry Clean Only" flag tags. Matching pants constructed of the same material and have -39" year identifier chain stitched inside. Identical Spalding tag in waist with -Dry Clean" flag tag and size -24" tag. Pants have red/blue piping running along seams, jersey has similar piping going up front and around the neck. The uniform was issued to the son of then team owner Gerry Nugent who allowed the boy to warm-up with the team prior to games. It remains in exemplary condition showing only the most subtle hints of use and is one of the finest all original, unaltered period uniform examples we have handled. Superb example is without question one of the finest condition extant of this exceedingly rare and highly desirable pin. -World Series Phila. 1915" raised lettering on the top portion surrounds the Baseball Writers Association of America logo. Lower medallion has relief of pitching Quaker with game in progress background, ringed by intact red enameled portion which reads -Philadelphia National League Base Ball Club." The central ribbon is fully intact with minor fading to the once gold -PRESS" designation (very minor -pull" to hemmed right edge mentioned for accuracy). Marked -C.E. Caldwell & Co. Original mounted image picturing the National League Philadelphia team posed full uniform in three rows. Players include McGuire, Bastain, Clements, Ganzel, Mulvey, Fogarty, Andrews, Ferguson, and manager Harry Wright. Image quality remains fairly strong with good contrast to the player areas. Original mount has a period ink titling to the right, -The Philadelphia (National League) Base-Ball Club Season 1886". The image itself has a series of tiny neatly printed numerals which correspond to a player identification written on the reverse in black fountain pen. Marked with noted Philadelphia photography studio stamp of Charles Knecht. The mount has some light abrasions to the edges along with even corner wear and a line crease on the reverse. Very rare 19th century rendering taken in the third year of existence for the Philadelphia franchise including Hall of Fame member Harry Wright: VG ($5,000-$7,500) $3,750.00

The bat shows light to moderate evident use including ball marks, stitching impressions, and barrel wear. Model M117 stamped on the knob end with -All-Star Game ROBERTS Philadelphia 1952" impressed on the barrel end. The edge of the knob has a small area of professional restoration to replace a chip. The 1952 All-Star Game played in Philadelphia was historic if for no other reason then the fact that it was shortened by rain after the fifth inning. The offered Roberts game used bat represents the only example within the collection. Notably scarce HOFer game bat is the first such example we have handled in 20 years.
