Beautifully crafted bronze over plaster figural statue depicts the now famed Bull Durham trademark "standing bull". Signed by noted artist Isadore Jules Bonheur (French, 1827 - 1901) who was widely regarded for his execution of various statues. See a Picture of this Item 705 1887 N690 Kalamazoo Bats Mike Dorgan. Exemplary specimen from this notably tough 19th century issue displays a portrait view of Dorgan in New York Giants tie down uniform. "Smoke Kalamazoo Bats" advertising at the bottom margin remains fully intact and contrasts well. The front, remaining fairly clean overall for its issue with fine contrast, has a very small toning spot at the top right, and a tiny surface peel to the bottom right corner mentioned for accuracy only. The back of the card remains in original condition with some typical minor surface toning. Dorgan and the other known New York Giants players in the N690 set are exceedingly scarce with no more then a few dozen or so examples having entered the collecting marketplace. To the best of our knowledge, all known New York player cards are portrait views.
