Beautiful royal blue wool jacket with red and white striped trim has white leather trimmed pockets and sleeves. Lyons number "16" in red on white embroidered numerals is found on the left sleeve with matching "White Sox" lettering on the back of the jacket. MacGregor/Goldsmith mfg. label remains on the interior tail area. Overall condition is very fine with some very minor moth holes to a few areas and some typical soiling to the leather surfaces. Included with the jacket is a period 7"x9" black and white photo picturing Lyons wearing an identical jacket (possibly this actual jacket). In addition to being a notable Lyons uniform piece, the jacket is a very rare team style that we have not previously encountered. Rare large format printed photographic display measures an impressive 22"x32" framed picturing three separate images chronicling the 1912 World Series. Images include 1912 Boston Red Sox, 1912 New York Giants, and a panoramic view of the Polo Grounds in New York. Players are identified for both teams in the bottom margin with titling of "World's Championship Baseball 1912" at the top. "Taken With Goerz Dagor No. 6" appears in red lettering at the top image and in the center margin in reference to a new type of large format photographic lens developed in the period. It is certainly possible that the offered piece was in fact some sort of promotional or advertising item for the Goerz Dagor lens as we have not previously encountered another example. Overall condition is fairly nice with some soiling primarily to the edges and a few small edge tears which have been repaired on the verso.
