See a Picture of this Item 645 1922 Zeenut Pacific Coast League Jim Thorpe SGC 80 EX-MT (1/1). The offered card, along with the Joe DiMaggio Zeenut rookie issue, ranks as the most significant of any Zeenut card produced over the many years the company manufactured sets representing the Pacific Coast League. Jim Thorpe, arguably the greatest all-around athlete in the history of organized sports, appears in only a handful of baseball card issues, with his lone Zeenut issue in 1922 ranking amongst the rarest and most coveted. The color tinted card pictures Thorpe in a throwing pose in his Portland uniform. Card front shows a clear, perfectly printed image set against a clean, bright and blemish free white background. The slightest hint of corner wear is visible upon close inspection of each square corner. The blank white back of the card is equally clean and bright. This newly discovered card is being offered here for the first time publicly and was only recently graded 80 EX-MT by SGC. It stands alone as the highest graded example of a 1922 Zeenut Jim Thorpe by any major grading company: SGC 80 EX-MT ($30,000-$40,000) $0.00

See a Picture of this Item 655 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle #253 rookie card. Desirable rookie issue of Mantle shows every attribute of a NM card including flawless registration and printing, strong original color, near flawless centering and minimal corner or surface wear. The extremely subtle fault of a small crescent shaped surface crease through the black bar bearing Mantle's name primarily accounts for the low technical grade that belies the cards superb visual qualities. See a Picture of this Item 657 Rare 1954 Wilson Franks store display. The Wilson Franks set is among the scarcest and most sought after card issues of the 1950's. In the era dominated by more widely distributed bubble-gum card sets featuring hundreds of players, this modest sized regional set of only twenty cards may have trumped them all with it's graceful design, vibrant color and potent player selection. This 12"x24 1/4" point of purchase store display features the entire 1954 Wilson Franks set in the form of an uncut sheet adhered to a rigid cardboard backing as issued by the Wilson Franks company. At the top, a separate section printed with advertising text reads, "This is a Complete Set of Wilson Baseball Player Cards One Card Packed in Every 1lb. Package of Wilson Franks...Start Saving Now!". The back retains its original cardboard easel standee. The piece shows mild wear, mostly relegated to the corners and edges, with the card sheet showing no readily apparent condition defects. Intense scrutiny however, does reveal an almost undetectable scattering of miniscule specks of white paint (mentioned for complete accuracy) and faint surface creasing to the Nellie Fox card at the lower left corner as well as on the neighboring card of Ray Jablonski. The all-important Ted Williams card is centrally featured amongst the vibrant array of brilliantly colored cards that comprise the complete 1954 Wilson Franks card series. This is an immensely attractive and supremely scarce display piece that easily ranks among the finest post-war baseball card related advertising pieces extant: EX ($15,000-$20,000) $15,500.00

See a Picture of this Item 658 Rare 1958 Willie Mays Armour Meats Giants tab (circular portrait version). Seldom seen metal litho tab was issued by Armour Meats shortly after the Giants made the transition to the west coast. Tabs are believed to have been inserted individually in packs of Armour Meats in the San Francisco area. They are designed to attach to one's shirt by folding back the metal "tabs." As of 1986, the Hake & Steckler's pin book listed only two different known subjects from this extremely rare issue. Willie Mays is the key subject, with the offered circular portrait version showing minimal wear with the folding metal section having never even been folded: EX-MT ($750-$1,000) $950.00

See a Picture of this Item 660 Rare set of 1958 Armour Meats Giants Tabs (10). Seldom seen metal litho tab set issued by Armour Meats shortly after the Giants made the transition to the west coast. Included are the following: Willie Mays, Daryl Spencer, Don Mueller, Ray Crone, Bobby Thomson, Danny O'Connell, Johnny Antonelli, Hank Sauer, Whitey Lockman and Curt Barclay.
