Description: Rare Johnny Unitas game worn Baltimore Colts home jersey c. 1970-72. White knit jersey worn by the legendary Colt quarterback in the early 1970's. Jersey retains original blue trim and #19 on front, back, and sleeves along with last name on back. Sand Knit tags remain on front of tail incl., "Designed & Tailored Exclusively For the Baltimore Colts". Shirt exhibits usage wear incl. some perspiration toning around collar and a few spots of blood on the left shoulder area no doubt from a charging linebacker attempting to slow down Unitas' aerial attack. Jersey was obtained directly from Unitas by Joe Thomas who was the Colts' General Manager in response to a request from his secretary Ms. Lois Kirtz who then presented the jersey to her brother in law who was a long time Colt fan. Uncirculated HOF'er jerseys of this calibur are a growing rarity and seldom become available for public sale. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the family: EX-EX/MT
