Description: Superb American football porcelain stein c.1890-1900. Full polychrome decorated stein with raised figural game scene and two player vignettes featuring early gridiron action. First player view pictures a man in uniform holding a melon style ball titled “Going Out”, another panel comically pictures the same player in a sling and head bandage titled “Coming Back”. Game scene is flanked on either top corner by American flag in shield form, 10” tall retaining orig. pewter handle and lid.
