Description: Estate collection of (57) vintage African American baseball related photographs c.1930-50. Exceptional grouping consisting primarily of teams from the Washington D.C. and Baltimore area incl. Washington Royals, “Black Sox”, and Georgetown teams. Photo quality is superb with fine imagery incl. two players walking off of field with their heads hung down and the White House in the background. All are loosely mounted on file folder pages and are easily removable if so desired. Sizes range from 4”x6” to 8”x10” with most measuring 8”x10”, also includes some miniature panoramic views. Almost all of the images were taken in stadium settings with many taken in Griffith stadium. Players are not identified and given the quality level of the photos and team appearance quite possibly could be a major player within the images.
