Description: Rare Babe Ruth autographed color photograph c. 1948. Early color photograph of an aging Ruth seen waving his hat and holding a cigar in front of a store, signed in ball point ink lower right, “To My Pal Al From Babe Ruth 5-22-48”. This color portrait of Ruth is rare as an early color image let alone the fact that it is signed just several months before Ruth’s death. Signature rates 5 out of 10 due only to poor original ink flow and remains clearly legible. This is the first autographed color photo of Ruth that we’ve encountered, accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Kevin Keating: EX
