Custom size 13.5 Celtic-green canvas Converse All-Stars sneakers date from the early side of Larry Bird's prolific career in which he helped restore the Boston Celtics to their former glory and, along with Magic Johnson, helped resurrect the entire NBA. The sneakers show substantial game wear, retaining excellent display quality. Bird's vintage autograph appears on both shoes in black ink, rating 5/10 and 8/10 respectively. Larry Bird's work ethic, determination and competitive fire were the trademarks of the Celtics teams he led during the 1980s and '90s. For 13 seasons with the Boston Celtics, from 1979-80 through 1991-92, Bird personified hustle, consistency and excellence in all areas of play--as a scorer, a passer, a rebounder, a defender, a team player, and, perhaps above all, a clutch performer. Bird helped rebuild a Celtics franchise that had been suffering from substandard play and poor attendance in the late 1970s.
