Description: Imperial size 1932 World Champion New York Yankees team photograph that once hung in Yankee Stadium (from estate of Lefty Gomez). Enormous 26"x38" framed original photograph pictures the World Champion 1932 Yankees posed in their home pinstriped uniforms at Yankee Stadium including Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Gomez, Pennock, McCarthy, Ruffing, Sewell, Combs and Dickey. Image quality is nothing short of extraordinary for a photograph of this size, with the image retaining remarkable clarity, contrast and overall sharpness. The photograph's provenance can be traced to Lefty Gomez. It was amongst a number of artifacts from Gomez's personal collection that were sold at auction by the Gomez family in the 1980's near their former home in Meriden, Ct. This provenance is validated by Gomez's handwritten identification of each individual pictured on their respective image in dark black fountain pen. On Gomez's own image he has penned "Me". All writing is neatly rendered, rating 9-10 out of 10. Titling printed in the lower right area of the photo reads "N.Y. Yankees World Champions 1932" with photographers markings "Cosmo-Silo Co. A-1571 N.Y." near the lower left area. The image is in completely original, unrestored condition with no visible wear or notable condition faults. Held in its original frame, it shares common characteristics with other photos known to have hung within the interior of Yankee Stadium. A marvelous piece transcending the categories of baseball photography and stadiana with the added appeal of Hall of Fame player provenance: EX-MT
