Description: Group of (6) Birmingham Black Barons original photographs c.1943-44. Very fine set of six 8"x10" sepia tone images each picture a member of the Birmingham Black Barons team to include: Ed Steele, Art Wilson, Jimmy 'Schoolboy' Newberry, Felix McLaurin, Lorenzo 'Piper' Davis, and Tommy Sampson. The photographs were likely produced for promotional purposes as they picture the star players on the team, most notably Davis and Wilson. Image quality is exceptional with fine clarity and composition having been printed on high quality thick photographic paper stock. Players are identified on the reverse of each image.
