Photo exhibits remarkable clarity and minimal evidence of handling. A paper credit affixed to the back notes "Lou Gehrig in 'Rawhide' Hollywood, Cal. January 1938 - Christy Walsh Management". Photo originates from the personal collection of Gehrig's former agent Christy Walsh. It is noted in the credits of Rawhide that Lou Gehrig appears in the film by arrangement of Christy Walsh.
