Description: Roger Bresnahan's professional model catcher's mask c.1930s-40s. Spalding professional model "spitter's" mask, so dubbed for the mouth hole in the front of the cage, shows evidence of moderate usage wear throughout. Spalding tag is stitched on the back of the strap. The mask dates from Bresnahan's retirement years in which he may have utilized it any number of roles as a NY Giants dignitary, incl. Old-Timer's games and events. The mask originates from the nephew of Roger Bresnahan, and includes his letter of provenance. Also includes LOA from Hunt Auctions: EX
