Description: Roger Bresnahan's New York Giants professional model cap c1940s. Blue wool cap features the classic embroidered interlocking "NY" on the front in white on red felt. Goldsmith manufacturer's stamp appears on the inside headband along with size "6 7/8" in red chain stitch. Evidence of moderate soiling and usage wear are apparent throughout, yet the cap retains outstanding display quality. The cap dates from the 1940's and was likely worn by Bresnahan in any number of roles as a NY Giants dignitary, incl. Old-Timer's games and events. Highly collectible example as a "style" cap with the enhancement of Bresnahan family provenance. The cap originates from the nephew of Roger Bresnahan, and includes his letter of provenance.
