Description: Lot of (20) auto. correspondence to Van Lingle Mungo from prominent baseball figures and politicians. Includes (18) baseball letters, mostly on official letterhead incl. Mets, Dodgers and Yankees from notable baseball figures such as George Weiss (2), Fred Claire (2), Larry Doby, Bob Fishel and Roy Hamey (2). Most notable is a 1935 letter from Ford Frick announcing the 1935 NL All-Star team, which included Mungo. Also included are letters to Mungo from U.S. Congressman Bryan Dorn and U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond. Several of the letters include their original transmittal envelopes.
