Description: Rare original program from first game in Detroit Lions history. Scarce program was issued for the first Lions game ever played on September 23rd, 1934 at the old University of Detroit Stadium. The game saw the Lions beat the New York Giants by a score of 9-0 in front of 12,000 fans. The program is structurally sound with moderate general wear including a vertical fold through the center. The Lions would go on to win their first 10 games, which included 7 straight shutouts. Four days after their first loss, the Lions hosted the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day, establishing a new tradition. The Lions would go on to finish their inaugural campaign with a 10-3 record: VG-EX
