Description: Pittsburgh Steelers professional model football helmet c.1960-70s. Black Riddell helmet features the classic Steelers logo on one side panel. Interior suspension padding remains intact and is marked Riddell. Vestiges of the missing facemask remain on the helmet front and the helmet retains its original Riddell chin strap. Period "77" is written in black marker on the interior indicating a likely attribution to either Mike Taylor (1968-69) or Mel Holmes (1971-73). Helmet exterior exhibits very heavy use inclusive of surface scuffing and general wear. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and letter of provenance from Don Biernat: VG
