Description: Willie Mays 1973 All-Star Game auto. professional model baseball bat. Louisville Slugger model 125 bat measuring 34 1/2" long and weighing 32.1oz. was issued to Mays for his final All-Star Game appearance. The game in Kansas City would see Mays finish his career with numerous All-Star game records including at-bats, runs, hits, total bases and triples. Model #S2 is stamped on the knob end with Mays number “24” written on the knob and barrel end in black marker. "All-Star Game Kansas City 1973" and Mays’ full name in block letters is stamped on the barrel. Mays appeared in the game for a single at-bat as a pinch hitter. The bat shows commensurate lack of usage wear. A notably large inscription “To Joe Best Wishes Willie Mays” appears on the back of the barrel in black marker (signature measures 8”), rating 7-8 out of 10.
