Description: 1952 Central League of Professional Baseball Clubs in Japan figural baseball trophy. Rare diminutive figural Japanese baseball trophy inscribed on the back plate, "To General William F. Marquat with appreciation of your good suggestion and kind support for our Central League". The wooden body of the trophy stands 5 1/2" tall with an inscribed silver backplate and various applied silver ornamentals including a baseball at the top. Retains its original Mikimoto silver label on the reverse. General Marquat was a significant figure in the post World War II United States occupation of Japan under General MacArthur.
