Description: Rare 1950 Whitey Ford New York Yankees rookie road jersey. Original grey flannel New York Yankees road jersey worn by Whitey Ford as a rookie pitcher in 1950. The shirt retains its original "New York" block lettering across the front with #19 on the back, which was the number originally issued to Ford in his debut season. "Ford" is chain stitched onto a strip tag inside the collar; Wilson tagging is affixed to the tail front along with dry clean tag and "1950" chain stitched year designation. The shirt exhibits fine use and wash wear while remaining in exceptional all original condition. Signed, "Whitey Ford" in blue sharpie inside the collar. In 1950, Ford burst into the Major Leagues with a mark of nine consecutive victories to begin his rookie season with the New York Yankees. The offered jersey is the only surviving exemplar from Whitey Ford's collection.
