Description: 1964 Whitey Ford New York Yankees American League Championship ring. Original ring presented to Whitey Ford by the New York Yankees in honor of their American League Championship in 1964. 14K gold ring has an inset diamond of approx. .35 carats surrounded by "American League Champions" raised lettering, which exhibits heavy surface wear. The Yankees logo is surrounded by laurel decor in relief on both side panels with "1964" in raised numerals. Both side panels remain relatively clean with some light to moderate surface wear to the Yankees logo and decor. "Edward Ford" is inscribed on the interior ring band along with "Balfour 14K". Ring measures 9 1/4 as ordered by Whitey to be worn by his wife. The Yankees players were given the choice of several awards including a man's ring, woman's ring, or wristwatch.
