Description: Whitey Ford 20th Win game used baseball from the 1963 season. Toned Cronin AL baseball with evident use dating to September 2, 1963 when Ford and the Yankees defeated the Detroit Tigers for Ford's 20th victory of the season. The ball is inscribed (lightly) across the mfg. stamping sweet spot with date and notations. The side panel has also been notated in black felt tip marker, "20th Win Detroit 9-2-63 5-4". Ford autographed the baseball in blue ink across the sweet spot. The 1963 season would prove to be one of the finest of Ford's career ending with a 24-7 mark and finishing second to Sandy Koufax for the Cy Young Award. The 1963 season would be the final one in which Ford would win at least 20 games. Includes LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from Whitey Ford: Ball: VG-EX, Notation and Signature: EX-MT
