As Mickey Mantle's true career strikeout statistic only totaled 1710, it can be assumed the inscription was written as a joke by Mantle's mischievous teammate. The inscription rates 7 out of 10 with some period ink enhancement to the word "Mantle". Includes letter of provenance from Whitey Ford: VG-EX
