Significant original player contract dating to Ford's breakout season after returning from military service in which he posted a mark of 18-6 en route to a World Championship. The contract was issued to Ford with a salary of $9,500 and has been signed on the interior by Edward Ford (Whitey) and HOF New York Yankees executive George Weiss. Signatures rate 9/10 out of 10. The offered contract is the earliest dated exemplar within the Ford collection and in many ways could be considered his "rookie" contract. Includes LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from Whitey Ford: EX/MT-NM
