Description: Mickey Mantle game worn first baseman's mitt c.1967-68. Rawlings RHT model #DCT first baseman's mitt worn by Mickey Mantle while playing first base for the New York Yankees c.1966-68. The glove itself is of the highest quality and exhibits heavy use including pocket wear and appropriate toning to the leather surfaces. Glove webbing and lacings remain in a remarkable state of original preservation with minimal use damage. "MICK 7 MANTLE" is written in period black marker in Mantle's hand on the exterior of the glove. Rawlings exterior label is missing with only a small portion remaining. Signed in black sharpie on the opposite side of the glove back, "Mickey Mantle No. 7" rating 8/9 out of 10. Mantle played a total of (131) games at first base for both the 1967 and 1968 seasons performing fairly well having converted from the outfield. To date, Mickey Mantle remains one of the most beloved figures in the history of American sport with his game used articles of significance rating among the most sought after of any player. The offered glove originated directly from the personal collection of Mickey Mantle and is one of only a handful of documented Mantle game used gloves extant.
