Description: 1966 Mickey Mantle New York Yankees player contract. Original foldout contract issued to Mickey Mantle for the 1966 season. The contract was issued with a salary of $100,000 for the 1966 season which would be Mantle's final year as an outfielder for the New York Yankees as he was switched to first base for the final two seasons of his career in 1967 and 1968. Interior is signed by Mantle, Yankees General Manager Ralph Houk, and AL President Joe Cronin with each signature rating 9/10 out of 10. Although certainly not one of Mantle's "best" seasons, 1966 would have been a fine campaign for most players with a batting average of .288, 23 home runs, 96 RBI's and 96 hits in just 108 games played. One of only a handful of original Mantle player contracts to have entered the marketplace. Includes LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from the Mantle family: NM
