Description: Superb figural baseball statue c.1860-70's. Wonderful cast pewter figure of a pioneer style baseball player wearing collared shirt, long pants, buckle belt, early sectional hat, and laced boots. Player is standing atop a round base with simulated grass surface and is holding a ball while leaning on a bat. Retains portions of its original bronze paint with wear in appropriate handling areas and retains its original black marble base. Measures 10" total height. Originated from a New England estate and was then housed in a private collection for the last 15 years: EX
