Description: 1922-23 Tour of the Orient photographic album from the Amos Strunk collection. Hard bound 10"x14" photographic album with original Oriental themed silk cover contains over (200) original images with relation to the 1922-23 Tour of the Orient. The photos range in size from 3"x4" to 9"x11" depicting a broad and substantive array of subjects to include: U.S. All-Star team photos; Individual player images both in uniform and street clothes; regional images including cultural and historic sites; Baseball game action photos incl. Hong Kong, Japan, and China; Several formal banquet photos some of which picture the entire U.S. All-Star team, and many others. The photos themselves have been finely preserved within the album and range from EX/MT to NM. The album remains fully intact with some light surface wear to the silk coated covering. The album also contains several decorative paper items from the Tour including an itinerary and passenger listing from the Empress of Canada ship.
