Lot Number: 792

Description: Scarce November 22, 1951 Hank Aaron auto. handwritten letter. Incredible handwritten letter on composition notebook paper sent from Henry Aaron to Syd Pollock, which reads as follows, "Dear Mr. Pollock, I receive you[r] letter, and it is entirely satisfactory with my parents Mr. & Mrs. Aaron, that I may join the Indianapolis Clowns next season. I will be looking for the contract... Sincerely yours, Henry Aaron". The letter's simplicity and polite reference to his parent's approval are characteristic of a player who carried himself with dignity and grace throughout his career. Penned when Aaron was just 17 years old, the offered letter may well be the earliest documented Aaron handwritten letter of baseball relation. One of the more historic items of its type that we have handled. Includes LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from the Pollock family: EX-MT
